Elementary

Our goal is to create an interactive environment where kids learn about Jesus and begin to understand how He is the center of their lives.

Hi! My name is Gabby Claytor and I have the privilege of serving as the Lower Elementary Coordinator at CFC.

My husband and I have been members of CFC for 17 years and have four children who have been part of the Children’s Ministry their entire lives. I have enjoyed serving in nursery, preschool, and elementary programs over the years and watching kids learn God’s word. I love meeting the families that come to church and getting connected with them.

Hi! My name is Joni Alexander and I have the privilege of serving as the Upper Elementary Coordinator at CFC.

I have had the privilege of being a part of Kids Ministry for over 24 years!  From 1999-2018 I led Children’s Ministry here at CFC.  After moving to Fort Myers, I had another opportunity to lead Kids Ministry.  And now, I’m so grateful and excited to be back at CFC and leading Upper Elementary kids!  I also developed and wrote Power Up Clubs.  During my time in Fort Myers, I was able to introduce PUC to several other churches around the country. My husband, Tim, and have been married for 44 years!  We have two grown children and seven incredible grandsons!

Our Sunday morning program

Our focus is teaching the Bible.  We also strive to come alongside kids as they learn appropriate social skills as a Christ follower and help them grow as Spirit empowered Christ followers. We also provide parents with a simple but effective tool for following up each Sunday’s teaching with our Rock Reader Bookmarks. These guide parents to model and lead their child in the discipline of daily time reading the Bible and prayerfully considering what God is teaching them through it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What basic activities can a child expect?

Your kids will experience a casual drop off time, meeting friends while participating in games and conversation.  We then move to the gym where we have a time of worship and specific Bible teaching.  Following our teaching time, we move back to our small group classrooms and follow up with discussion and activities to enrich the Bible lesson.  Oh, we also make sure we have lots of fun time too!

Where will a child check in & be picked up?

You will check your child into our computer system in front of the gym. Then, you will bring them to Building B, downstairs for Lower Elementary (K-2) and Building B upstairs for Upper Elementary (3-5), and drop them off in their classroom. You will return to the same classroom to pick up your child.

Who will be caring for or leading our kids?

Our Classroom Teachers are screened and trained volunteers from the CFC Body. These volunteers will take them to and from the Bible Lesson as well as lead them in all the activities that correlate with that Sunday’s Bible Lesson. These volunteers are supported by a team of coordinators and staff during services so if any needs arise, they have great resources available at a moment’s notice.

Our Large Group Bible Teachers are resourced and trained leaders.  They have a giftedness and passion for teaching the Bible to kids.

When a child leaves, what do we want them to “take away” from their experience?

When your Elementary kids leaves our environment on Sunday, we hope they are challenged and encouraged to take a step in their spiritual growth journey.  We hope and pray that they felt welcomed and encouraged by their friends and teachers to know the Lord. We pray they would grow as Spirit empowered Christ followers and are challenged to live out their faith throughout the week.
