Our family came to the chapel for the first time 16 years ago when my husband, Mitch, was stationed at NAS Jacksonville. Instantly we found CFC as a community that loved Jesus, equipped us to walk in truth, and poured into our four children. The Navy moved us to California but there was great rejoicing in the Conover home when we received orders back to Jacksonville in 2014. We wanted our children to be a part of a youth group and children’s program that intentionally discipled our children, and we wanted to be a part of this thriving, Christ centered community.

Soon after we returned to Jacksonville, I joined the CFC staff as the Assistant Minister to Children working with preschoolers each Sunday. I found the “sweet spot” of ministry: using my spiritual gifting in administration and leadership as I loved children and encouraged young families as they raised their children. Four years later I stepped into the role of Minister to Children which expanded the use of my gifts and gave me the opportunity to serve all ages of children, teens and even college students.

I placed faith in Jesus at nine years old after hearing the gospel in church for many years. Children’s Ministry was integral to laying foundations of faith and truth in my life and I believe in the importance of children learning about who God is and how much He loves them as early as possible. In CFC Kids we seek to teach the gospel weekly to all ages, maturity level or cognitive ability.  I am blessed to be at a church committed to the gospel, the Great Commission and discipling the next generation of the church.
